Ouranopolis and Athens

After leaving Mount Athos, Denis and I spent a relaxing night in Ouranopolis and then took an overnight train down to Athens (from Thessaloniki). We spent the day in Athens before parting ways, I back to my abode in B.C. and Denis to greater adventures in Europe and beyond.

Denis swimming at a beach in Ouranopolis. After an intense 6 days at Mount Athos, it was nice to have a some time to relax before getting back on the road.

A magnificent view of Athens from Lykavittos Hill. The Acropolis can be seen in the center of this picture.

Police guarding the Parliament buildings. Apparently a controversial bill was going to be discussed and the riot squads were preparing for a protest.

Dionysios (Denis) at the Temple of Dionysios at the Acropolis.

The Parthenon

Various sites at the Acropolis.
